Room 303, Tuesday Morning

Finding his manservant locked in the cupboard and screaming yesterday had not been Arthur's idea of a good time. He wanted some answers, and he'd let Merlin out the window for the time being to get them.

He sat down on his bed, and eyed his roommate's side of the room.

If this whole thing was what he feared it was, he and Leto were going to have to talk about boundaries.

Leto smirked. "I can see that."

If Arthur wanted him to believe that he should have to be a little less obvious.

Well, it was his own room. He was allowed to take some measure of comfort.

"Didn't you fight anyone?" Shifting the subject: a strategy for the ages.

"I wasn't in the mood," Leto replied. "And I did challenge Worf the day the rest of you were playing in the ball pit." Not that Worf had accepted the challenge, but still.

"That must've been..."

Arthur sought for the word.

"Interesting."

And they hadn't been playing. He'd trounced Priestly soundly.

Not really. Worf did not fight children, and Leto had not been able to convince him that he was not a child.

"And how are your students doing?" Leto asked.

"Alice is picking things up fairly well," he said, giving the matter some thought, "But she's got some bad habits to rid herself of. Dinah has taken to her strength training well. She's making good progress, to a point, but then she'll never make a knight, of course."

Yes, that was tacit acknowledgement that he was teaching Dinah again.

It pleased Leto to hear that Dinah was being taught again, but he knew better than to acknowledge it.

"Bad habits?" Asking about Alice was probably better.

"Her instincts are good, but she's got the technique of a drunk beaver," he said, eloquently.

"Have you met many... drunk beavers?" Leto had to ask.

"Figure of speech, Leto."

Had Leto been Merlin, he would've mentioned something about how some of his knights were useless enough to qualify.

"The figure amused me," Leto replied cheerfully. "And I already know about her instincts."

"I might be setting up that reserve after all," Arthur said, easily sliding the subject towards where he wanted it to be. "Reno's offered his assistance."

This caught Leto's interest. "Reno? He should be useful."

"He's a good-" Sorcerer. "Man," Arthur finished. "I'll take it up with Lady Zoe shortly, see if she takes a liking to the idea."

"As I said before, I will help you if you want assistance." Leto had noted the hesitation in Arthur's comment about Reno, and wondered what he had against the man. Nothing too serious at least, it seemed.
