Room 325, Saturday Morn'

Arthur... was still in bed, and more than happy to keep it that way for another spell. It was the day of graduation, and nerves were running high - not for the event itself, but for whether it would mean that, on the other end of this weekend, laid a trip back home.

It was that thought that made him open his eyes and stare across his pillows. Too restless. He sighed.

At the fellow who wasn't snoring per-say, but he wasn't sleeping quietly either.

More of a wheezing.

At least that distracted Arthur for a few seconds. He rolled his eyes and reached over, poking Merlin in the neck.

"Oi," Merlin grumbled, cracking open one eye to glare at him.

"You were making noise and keeping me off my sleep," Arthur groused.

It hadn't been Merlin keeping him off his sleep, but he didn't see where facts had to get into it.

Which meant Merlin was just going to roll his eyes and shove at Arthur's shoulder. "So sorry to ruin your beauty sleep," he replied.

"Maybe they have some kind of contraption or potion to deal with the noise you make when you sleep," Arthur said, as if he wasn't the prime snorer in this bed.

He elbowed Merlin back. Sleepily.

Because he was a prat.

And Merlin was having none of this in the morning. So, to keep Arthur from being the prat he was, he was now wrapping his arms around the man's chest and snuggling him into submission. "I'm sure."

Arthur eyed him firmly from up top.

And relaxed. A little.

... He might have been tenser than he was willing to admit.

"We should look into it."

"Might help keep you quiet," Merlin agreed.

Arthur smacked him lightly in the shoulder. "I don't need it."

Beat.

"...Do I?"

Focus on that, now.

"Maybe?" Merlin, don't play at being coy. It didn't work for you.

"... Are you asking me?"

No, it just made him sound confused more than anything.

"Do you think you snore?" Yeah, this was just going to end in mockery for Merlin.

"Of course not," Arthur said, staring at him. "Did you bang your head off the side of the bed his morning?"

That got him another squint.

"Right..."

"Right." Yeah, they were special.

"Any other bewildering speculations on my personal habits you'd like to share, Merlin?"

"...you leave crumbs in the bed."

There, he said it.

"I rarely ever eat in my bed, Merlin," Arthur pointed out, sanely.

"You ate those rolls in there last night!" Well, actually, Merlin brought them and was eating, but he did it cleanly. Arthur just made a mess.

"You did most of the eating, you pig," Arthur said, giving him another shove.

At least it was an outlet for some of that tenseness?

"I'd think it's safe to say most of the crumbs would be yours," Arthur said, eying him some more while he could.

And snagged Merlin's waist to tug him closer. Hush.
