Room 303, Sunday Morning

Arthur did not awake to the feeling of having slept particularly well. His head wasn't pounding, which was a good sign, but his brain felt like it still wanted to seep out of his head into something nice and unconscious of the sweetest kind.

He was usually an early riser. He was trying to remember why he didn't feel inclined to be so right now.

Of course, that's when he opened his eyes and found two very curious blue eyes peering back at him. "You awake yet?" Gawain demanded. Yes, demanded.

Oh, hell. "Go back to sleep," he ordered.

"But sir," Gawain said, plaintatively, "It's time for morning exercise."

Arthur was going to murder the world.

And down Arawn went to sit next to him, bouncing a little in his rush.

"Arthur, he can--" Float things about? Brilliant thing to say.

"Victoria!" Leto told the girl, irritation in his voice. There was no point in winding up his roommate unnecessarily today. Of course, he would expect any child of his to be capable of it.

"I will remember that."

"I know," he just said, and shot Merlin a look that clearly implied he'd intended for Merlin to follow his previous statement. "Sit down, Merlin."

Nice of you to clarify, Arthur.

"Too complicated," Arthur said, with a raise of his brow, "and you run the risk of looking like you've got your head up your arse. So, whose is she, then?"

"I approve of that suggestion," Leto replied, returning the look. How had they ever managed to... No, better not think about that.

Hunith reached up to give Merlin a hug. "I promise!"

"I am Victoria Chani Lorina Oxford Her-Own-Self Liddell Atreides," Victoria announced. "Princess Royal of the Imperium." She grinned at Leto. "Is he always like this, father?"

"Yes," Leto told her, then added to Arthur: "Alice is her mother." He put a hand on the girl's shoulder.

"Lady Alice," Arthur repeated. Of course. He offered the girl a smile in return, and a nod. See? Respect. "Someone's got to make up for your father," he said. "No offense."

"You're insulting my father and expect me not to take offense?" Victoria replied cheerfully. His logic was flawed.

"Be... not horrible for him," Merlin said, giving Hunith a conspiratory smile.

Merlin sighed and sat down as well, on the other side of Arawn. "Yes, sire?"

"And your others?" Leto asked. "Who are they?"

"I need to get out of here," he said, idly, "I'm starting to worry Leto's brood might plan to rise up and start a rebellion."

"Yes," Arthur told Victoria, matter-of-factly, "Consider that my apology as well."

Clearly, it was very heartfelt. "I've got one with a woman I've never met before," he said, "Which was interesting. It's a strange day when the idea of having a child with Dinah is the least insane one."

Merlin shot the other bed a look. "Hunith is rather well behaved," He ventured, trying very hard not to think about how she came to be.

"What do you mean by that?" Leto asked, crossing his arms.

"Yes," Arthur said, flatly, "She would be."

Hunith giggled, and looked from Merlin to Leto and back.

"I wouldn't have the faintest idea what you're talking about, Lord Leto."

His logic was flawed. That was interesting. Victoria was sure she could beat him in chess.

"And the third?" Leto asked. "And yes, I didn't think you and Dinah... But then there seems to be little logic to this." Like why he would have a child with Merlin.

She might be surprised. Or not.

"The third is--" Er. Merlin's.

Arthur had the decency to look just a little awkward. "Completely impossible."

That deserved no further comment. Leto shot Hunith a stern glance. "Don't listen to everything he says."
