Room 303, Saturday Morning

Arthur still wasn't entirely sure how he'd come to this arrangement, except that she had been remarkably straightforward, which was both a novelty and meant she wasn't looking for any courting. One delusion-induced brush with elopement had been more than enough for him in his lifetime (well, most likely shorter than that, considering his position, but still) and so far, his efforts to avoid it had been... efficient.

As he stirred in bed, he hoped to God she'd be as straightforward about getting out in the morning, however.

Arthur, as Morgana oft-remarked, was such a romantic.

"You could say that," Merlin remarked dryly.

Merlin choked, even though there was nothing to actually choke on. "What?!"

"Not everyone is like you about these things," Merlin said, flushed red and looking away.

"Why would you even think that? We've only just met!"

That only caused more sputtering. "Prancing about?"

Merlin sucked in one deep breath, trying not to shout here. "I get those socks darned now then."

Picking up the pile of laundry, Merlin didn't spare a glance back as he flounced strode flounced out of the room like a fourteen year old girl in a snit.
