Room 325, Saturday Morning

Arthur was not always the most elegant to rise.

Especially not when he had someone's hands stuck in his armpits and the blanket was half-off the bed and the usual 'privacy time now' bowl of peanuts outside had frozen overnight (he was going to swear up a storm afterward about having to pay the squirrels extra for the privacy).

"Bloody hell," Arthur said - that was good morning, of a kind. "Who left the window open?"

The lack of lights wasn't nearly as impressive.

They were slowly warming! And it wasn't like Arthur's feet were all lovely warm pressed against Merlin's calves, you know.

"We could make a run for food and then come back."

Arthur eyed him.

It lasted a few long seconds.

"Fine," he said, finally, "If you must be such a worrywart."

"I'd rather not starve," Merlin replied. "...and it's your turn to venture out."

"...Oh, come now." He got another look for his trouble. "Are you really that scared of the cold?"

"I got the blanket, you can get the food."

"That wasn't a bargaining situation!"

"Do you want me to get cold again?" OH SNAP, ARTHUR.

"You are such a coward," Arthur retorted. "Fine. I'll fix it." He pulled away the blankets.

Merlin grinned far too much at that. "See if they have biscuits!"

A beat.

"AND MEAT!"

"I'm not doing this to take your requests, Merlin," Arthur retorted, snagged a bag, and promptly stalked his way out of the room.

Merlin managed to get out of bed just long enough to grab the last blanket and arrange something like a blanket fort. There were pillows for support, alright?

It worked.

And now he waited for food.

"I have food," Arthur announced, shoving open the door.

He was freezing. Absolutely freezing.

He was not going to admit to it.

"I got another blanket," Merlin informed him brightly from his warm, warm nest of warmness.

"You're an ingrate," Arthur said, with feeling, practically diving into bed without as much as taking his clothes of. "I'm fairly sure you planned this. But I have... Stuff."

He hadn't checked.

"Stuff is good," Merlin assured him, going for the bag as Arthur warmed himself up.

Arthur shoved the bag at him and pulled the covers over his shoulders. This was one of very few instances in which he approved of the notion of a blanket fort.

Grabbing the first item in it, Merlin tilted his head. "What's a 'soy sauce'?"

"A sauce made of soy, I'd imagine." He sidled up to Merlin.

"...which is?"

"Some herb."

...yes. Merlin very wisely set it aside. "Oh! Dried meat!"

His day was maaaade.

"Give me some of that," Arthur instructed. He was sort of starting to heat up a bit.

Not that he'd been cold in the first place. Beyond ineptitude on the part of the castle planners.

Merlin handed over half of it, chewing on what was left. "Did you find biscuits?"

"Look in the bag," Arthur hazarded. He actually didn't know at all, and he was a bit too busy chewing on his own end of jerky now to add to it.

Merlin rolled his eyes and pulled out some sort of dried fruit treat and then... well yes there were biscuits. "Oreos. I don't think I've had those before."
